Rent-a-Captive

Known as separate accounts companies (SACs), segregated portfolio companies (SPCs) and protected cell companies (PCCs), rent-a-captives have become increasingly popular among smaller companies and organizations.

A rent-a-captive allows individual entities to finance risk without the capital requirements required of other types of captives. Participants in rent-a-captives share operating costs, but are shielded from losses incurred by other participants within the captive.
